Thing #38

Well I have found something to do for #38.  I am going to go ahead and make a Facebook page for our Library here at Northeast Community College.  I will let everyone know how I am doing and once I get it all together.  I am gonna wait a little while, but am very excited to see if it will take off. I can see that this will be extremely helpful to our Library because as I am learning Face book is not just for people trying to connect with others but also to get people to connect with us here in the library.  I will be able to post events and get lots of information out there about events, new technologies, and research resources.

This is such an awesome video on The future of the book. It is inspiring and really gives you a sense of what wonderful things are possible to keep books up to date with our changing technologies.

Thing #39

Well I went ahead and searched the internet for myself and nothing really comes up about myself.  I have a pretty common name and apparently more people are interested in Sarah Joy Brown (an Actress) then in little old me.  I did create a facebook page though, and that was pretty exciting.  I feel pretty small on the radar, but that is perfectly fine with me.  The only things I did find myself on were a lot of class reuninon pages, All highschools. com, and class finders.  I looked into the Google Alerts tool and I just find it interesting that you can get alerts when someone is doing a search about the things you want to know if people are searching for.  That is an interesting litlle deal

This is officially my first Thing I have done.  This was so much fun.  I really enjoyed this activity.  I think that I preferred Pixlr over Aviary but it was interesting to see the differences between the two programs.  I really liked the pictures I had found off of various sites and didn't want to ruin them but I do like what I did with them.  I never even realized that it was this easy to find a site that is so differse in the tasks you can complete.





lifelong learning

I am really new to all of these things.  I feel that I am young and should be more aware of all the technology around me.  I am very scared of not fully understanding all the possible things I could be doing to utilize all this technology around me, but hope that I am successful.  I also find it very interesting and hopefully challenging which is great to get over my fears and face the technology at my fingertips.
